The Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, held a press conference regarding the monetary policy decision-making.
Sejko said that during 2021 the economy is expected to grow and consequently there will be a return of inflation during 2022. Sekjo said that economic growth is expected to increase by 5.3%.
"The economy is expected to grow this year which will lead to an increase in employment and wages, consequently we will have a return of inflation in 2022. The average inflation rate was 1.9% in April and May and was affected by rising prices in food and oil. Economic activity is recovering in the first 2 quarters of the year. There is an increase in investment, spending and export expansion. Economic growth for 2021 is expected to be 5.3% according to the BoA estimate", said Sejko.
