The bust of the Albanian National Hero, Gjergj Kastriot Skënderbeg will be placed in Budapest Central Park in Hungary.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who together with the Prime Minister Edi Rama, are on an official visit to Budapest, visited the park, one of the most frequented by Hungarian citizens, where the Municipality of Tirana is crowning within a few weeks the initiative initiated years before.
"This is an initiative that has started since your time," Mayor Veliaj addressed Prime Minister Rama, "when you were mayor of Tirana, to place the bust of Skanderbeg in the Central Park of Budapest." On July 5 we will have the inauguration and a ceremony in Budapest. We have been given the central location, at the bridge that connects the two parts of the park. The bust was made by Agim Rada and our Agency that deals with monuments, so it is the contribution of the Municipality for the Municipality here. We have the copyright from the Paskali family ".
Veliaj said that Queen Geraldine will also have a monument at the square of the Ministry of Justice in Tirana.
