The Head of the High Prosecution Council (HPC), Gent Ibrahimi received the Ambassador of the Delegation of the European Union, Luigi Soreca. As part of the recent legislative reform, Soreca and Ibrahimi discussed the progress of justice reform so far.
He also spoke about the consolidation of the Council as a governing institution of the prosecution system, the first results regarding the strengthening of the independence and integrity of prosecutors as well as the first encouraging results of the prosecution system in the fight against crime.
They also discussed the formatting of future European Union assistance to the Albanian justice system.
Meanwhile, in a Twitter post, Soreca stresses that there are still challenges ahead to continue progress in justice reform.
