The German Embassy in Tirana announces that starting from Sunday Albanians will be required to take the COVID test before entering Germany and 10 days quarantine upon arrival. This decision comes after the Federal Government of Germany has classified Albania as an area with a high incidence of coronavirus, along with 24 other countries.
Notification of the German Embassy:
Important: From Sunday - Compulsory testing before entering Germany !!!
-The Federal Government has today classified 25 countries around the world as areas with a high incidence of Covid-19, including Albania. The requirement of pre-entry testing in Germany is in force on Sunday: Persons over the age of six traveling to Germany and staying in a high-incidence area for the last ten days prior to entering Germany must have with them at the moment of entry into Germany the document proving the negative test for infection with Corona Virus SARS-CoV-2 (PCR or Antigen test) and present it, if required, to both the authorities and the agency of travel before its departure. This regulation applies equally to German citizens as well as those of other nationalities.
In any case, the test must not have been done earlier than 40 hours before entering Germany. The document with the test result must be in printed or electronic form in German, English or French. The test result must be stored for a period of at least ten days after entering Germany.
-Persons traveling to Germany or those returning to Germany from Albania should thus consider three criteria:
- Entry only with negative testing
- 10 days of forced quarantine in Germany
- Registration of entry (www.einreiseanmeldung.de)
