The Speaker of Parliament, Gramoz Ruçi, held a joint conference with the Speaker of the Grand Assembly of Turkey, Mustafa Sentop. During his speech, Ruçi highlighted the good relations between the two peoples, which according to him was confirmed by the contribution that the Turkish state has made in Albania.

The Speaker stressed that the two peoples will strive intensively for membership in the European Union, calling this step as their common goal.

"I thank him for the great help that this country (Turkey) gave to Albania in difficult times and this time of pandemic. Special assistance in health infrastructure, or the construction of the hospital in Fier within three months are concrete indicators that the Turkish state has given us. Both peoples have a popular saying: A good friend is known in difficult times. This collaboration of ours best proves this popular memory. I informed Speaker Sentop that Albania appreciates the strategic partnership and very good relations with Tirana and vice versa of Tirana with Turkey, in the service of neighborhood, sovereignty, peace, progress in the region and beyond.

As I think no one is harmed by friendship and love between peoples, on the contrary, everyone wins. We jointly praised the visit of Prime Minister Rama and President Erdogan in January this year. Of course we welcomed the signing of the joint political statement. This statement elevates our bilateral relations to a strategic partnership. As it is known, Turkey and Albania are valued partners in NATO and are working intensively to achieve the common national goal of membership in the European Union. European integration is our compass and our goal. Many Turkish companies have invested approximately $ 3.6 billion in Albania. We agreed to continue supporting these companies for further investments in Albania ", said Ruçi.
