Under the motto "Safe and healthy mobility", this year Tirana has joined the "European Mobility Week", which targets the awareness raising of motorists to use as little as possible the means that pollute the environment and to embrace new approaches to alternative transport.
The Municipality of Tirana has organized a series of activities that will culminate on September 22 with "Car Free Day".
Through a press release, the Municipality of Tirana through this week with activities says that it seeks to promote and raise awareness of the community on the importance of using alternative means for a healthier environment for all.
Activities in Tirana will take place according to the following calendar:
September 16-Visit with public transport in Dajt and walk to the farms of the area
September 17-Cycle tours through the city
September 20-Bicycle lanes in Tirana
September 21-Mode of movement and public health by IPH
September 22 - European Car Free Day.
The Municipality of Tirana will also join the World Clean up Day, on Saturday, September 18th. The action, which is expected to activate employees, but also many citizens organized voluntarily in some of the most neuralgic points designated in every neighborhood of Tirana, was launched by the Mayor himself, Erion Veliaj, who announced that the capital returns hence to the annual tradition of cleaning the city.
2021 is the fourth year of World Clean up Day, which is joined by 186 countries. For 2022, Albania has been selected as the host country of the World Cleanup Day.
