The US government donated new and modern equipment to the Armed Forces to deal with floods as efficiently as possible.Now the Albanian Armed Forces will be better equipped to cope with the situation created by severe floods. The new equipment was handed over by the US Ambassador to Tirana Yuri Kim in the presence of the Minister of Defense Niko Peleshi, the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Bajram Begaj and the Commander of the Support Command Brigadier General Ndriçim Sallaku. Minister Peleshi thanked the US for the next donation and stressed that these new devices will increase the response capacity of the Armed Forces to natural disasters. "It is an important gift for us, and for the citizens of Albania who are facing a difficult situation, created by intense rainfall. These devices will enhance the capabilities of the National Civil Protection Agency and Support Command by assisting search and rescue teams to respond more effectively to an increasing number of emergencies and also help protect the lives of personnel of the Armed Forces as they continue their important, rescuing work. I express my gratitude and thanks to the Government of the Republic of Albania, to the United States of America for its permanent, generous and unlimited support to Albania and the Armed Forces, ”said Minister Peleshi. US Ambassador to our country Yuri Kim praised the work of the Albanian Armed Forces during the floods and praised the cooperation between the two countries. The new equipment is mainly water rescue materials and equipment in case of emergencies. Assistance includes dinghies, generators, dehumidifiers, sandbags, flood radios, first aid kits and portable fans.
