US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has sent a letter to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. In the handwritten message sent to Vucic, Blinken asks the Serbian head of state for mutual recognition of Kosovo and Serbia.
"The United States is committed to our long-term relationship. We share the vision of a democratic, stable, prosperous and democratic Serbia on the step towards EU membership. The long-term goal of the US has been to see Serbia and Kosovo reach a comprehensive agreement focused on mutual recognition," Blinken wrote.
Vucic received the letter from Blinken and made it public to the media but did not comment on the request for mutual recognition of Kosovo.
"I congratulated him on his appointment to an important position in the United States and I believe he also remembers our cooperation. He even wrote something with his own hand, so this is important news," Vucic said.
Meanwhile, we recall that in February, the US President, Joe Biden, reminded the Serbian President of America's goal for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, which is mutual recognition.
