The Vice President of the United States of America, Kamala Harris, said that it was a pleasure to talk with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, to thank the state of Kosovo for hosting Afghans in the Bondsteel camp.
Harris wrote in a Twitter post that he and President Osmani agreed to continue strengthening important US-Kosovo relations.
"It was a pleasure to speak with President Vjosa Osmani yesterday to extend our nation’s thanks to Kosovo for hosting vulnerable Afghans at Camp Bondsteel. We agreed to continue to strengthen the important U.S.-Kosovo relationship", Harris wrote.
Last night the Presidency of Kosovo announced that President Vjosa Osmani had a telephone conversation with the Vice President of the United States of America, Kamala Harris.
The excellent partnership between our two countries and the special relations between Kosovo and the United States were at the center of this conversation.
On this occasion, Osmani expressed to Vice President Harris the permanent gratitude of the people of Kosovo for the continued support of the United States and reiterated that the United States remains our country's main strategic partner in the process of consolidating statehood.
They also discussed about the pandemic situation, and President Osmani thanked the United States and President Biden for donating more than 500,000 vaccines.
According to the announcement of the Presidency of Kosovo, Vice President Harris also expressed the gratitude of the Biden administration for supporting Kosovo in this mission and reiterated the personal and deep connection between the Biden Administration and the people of Kosovo.
President Osmani has invited Vice President Harris to visit the Republic of Kosovo, to see up close our common successes. The two leaders agreed to meet in person soon.
