The WB2EU Network organizes a forum on "How to get EU enlargement back on the track?, giving priority to the rule of law and justice reform."
Part of the discussion were some personalities from the EP, North Macedonia and Montenegro where the issue of opening negotiations in Albania was also mentioned.
It was exactly the Vice President of the EP, Katarina Elb, who voiced the concern that developments within the EU are extremely disturbing and disappointing, as there are no kept promises for Albania of North Macedonia.
The WB2EU network itself has raised the concern that the status quo in the EU can not provide more stability for the Western Balkans by using delays and non-interventions for countries aspiring to the EU while they are waiting.
'' When you make promises you must keep them. Once expectations are raised, you need to meet them. What we have seen with North Macedonia and Albania is that the EU has not met these expectations and has not kept its promises. The European Parliament should work as much as possible to support the accession process," said Elb.
