The international competition for Vlora airport has resumed, after a 9-month suspension due to the pandemic, which has given a very severe blow to the airport sector in the world and has paralyzed investments in this sector worldwide. The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku announced the reopening of the competition, which was interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, while announcing the new procedures and deadlines of this competition for all the interested companies.
The deadline for submission of bids by companies is until December 23, and then will be evaluated the bids that will be submitted.
The announcement of the winning company will be made in mid-January, 2021, after evaluations by experts and consultants who are part of this process.
The Albanian government opened for the first time on December 19, 2019 the international competition for the construction and operation of Vlora International Airport.
